Wellness Disclaimer
BeDeeper's non-clinical scope and international crisis resources.
Defined terms carry the meanings given in BeDeeper's shared legal definitions unless expressly redefined here.
In plain language
BeDeeper is a sanctuary for reflection. It is not a substitute for professional care of any kind. If you are in crisis, please reach out to the resources listed below now. This document reads with AI Disclaimer and AI Transparency.
1. BeDeeper is not clinical care
BeDeeper is designed for private reflection, orientation, and dialogue with The Lantern. It is not:
- Psychotherapy, counseling, or any other form of mental-health treatment.
- Medical, psychiatric, or clinical care.
- A diagnostic tool.
- A crisis line, suicide-prevention service, or emergency service.
BeDeeper does not evaluate members against any clinical criteria. Anything The Lantern reflects back is offered as reflective material, not as clinical assessment.
2. Please seek professional care when you need it
If you are struggling with your mental or physical health, please talk to a qualified professional. A licensed therapist, counselor, psychiatrist, psychologist, physician, social worker, or spiritual director can meet you in ways BeDeeper cannot. Using BeDeeper alongside professional care is fine. Using BeDeeper instead of professional care when professional care is what you need is not what BeDeeper is for.
3. In an emergency
If you or someone you know is in immediate danger, please contact emergency services in your country now.
- United States and Canada — Call or text 988 for the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline. Call 911 for emergencies.
- United Kingdom and Republic of Ireland — Call 116 123 to reach the Samaritans, or 999/112 for emergencies.
- European Union — Call 112 for emergencies. National suicide-prevention lines are listed at https://findahelpline.com.
- Australia — Call 13 11 14 for Lifeline, or 000 for emergencies.
- New Zealand — Call or text 1737, or 111 for emergencies.
- Everywhere else — Please contact your local emergency service. https://findahelpline.com offers a directory of crisis lines in many countries.
The Lantern is not able to send help. If you are in danger, please use the resources above.
4. Medications, treatments, and physical health
BeDeeper does not offer advice about medications, dosages, supplements, physical treatments, exercise programs, dietary plans, or any medical intervention. Nothing you read on BeDeeper — including anything The Lantern says — should be used in place of guidance from your physician, pharmacist, or other qualified provider.
5. What BeDeeper does not track
BeDeeper does not gamify mood, streaks, or engagement. Growth is revealed in the sanctuary; it is not measured against a scale. Any patterns The Lantern notices are tentative invitations rather than clinical findings. See AI Transparency.
6. Reflective content and difficult feelings
Reflective writing can surface difficult feelings. That is part of why it works. If your reflective practice at BeDeeper is bringing up feelings that feel unmanageable, please pause and reach out to a professional or to the crisis resources in section 3. BeDeeper is a companion, not a substitute for care.
7. No warranty of wellness outcomes
BeDeeper makes no warranty that reflection at BeDeeper will improve any mental, emotional, physical, spiritual, or life outcome. It is offered as a sanctuary; what happens there is yours.
8. Age
BeDeeper is not directed to children. Age minimums are set out in Children's Privacy.
9. Changes
Substantive changes to this Disclaimer follow the notification convention in Terms of Service and the effective-date convention in BeDeeper's Legal Foundation.
